Beauty Revolution attended its first tweetup event. Not only was it a tweetup event, but a trickortweetup event where we dressed up and saw lady gaga, a robot, and a peacock, oh my! It was nice meeting the faces behind different social networking groups (blogs, twitter, etc.) while supporting a wonderful cause. Among all the fairy-tale and goblin characters, we saw a ton of people sprouting mustaches thanks to Century Novelty, fighting pediatric cancer one stache at a time, www.mustachesvscancer.org.

Delicious foods were spread out, the music choices just right, the raffle simply divine and the drinks, supplied by two vendors were uniquely different. Elemental Vodka introduced us to their high-quality organic spirits manufactured by sustainable production practices, and Pike Brewery, with assortments of delicious beers, including their signature “pumpkin pie” in a bottle- yum!

Fashion Group International-Seattle hosted a fantastic exclusive event with Luly Yang Couture (www.lulyyang.com) who graciously opened up her gorgeous boutique to tantalize our senses. We had a wonderful array of guests including special speaker of the evening Linda Pruitt of the Cottage Company (www.cottagecompany.com). We have all recently seen her on the cover of the New York Times being praised for her ingenuity and eco-savviness. Linda spoke on why Fashion Group International was an asset to her over the years and how the dear friends in FGI became such a support to her. She feels that within Fashion Group those in the industry will not only get the needed support that is so desperately sought after, but also life-long friendships that continue to give joy.

Attending our event was Project Runway's Logan Neitzel, Gail Cottle (former Nordstorm product group), designer Luly Yang, our own BR's Editor in Chief Susan J. C. Alveshere, BR Publisher Janaea Riddle, and many other noteworthy industry folks!

Being an editor for our blog, I usually like to keep my personal business out. But, I could not resist with this post. Amazing photos from an amazing model, my cousin Natali Krug. Not only does she have a great heart, but her photos always come out absolutely, positively amazing. Kudos cousin!

It is officially Halloween week! Have you thought about what the plans are for the weekend? Are you a type that likes to stay in, read a good book by the fire, drink your pumpkin latte, and enjoy getting up every five minutes when the little witches and pirates ring your door? Or are you the type to get decked out because you know it’s the only time when you can pull off the wacky 70’s look and go out on the town? Either way, this holiday seems to paint a coat of burnt orange on everything, hypes the jazz music up, and the layers just kept on adding to the attire.

Is it just us or have we had three shoe posts in a row? Maybe the shoe fever is in the air? Or maybe it is just us wanting all the amazing shoes fall has in store.

Jane Aldridge is a well known name in the fashion blogger scene. She has had so much success with her blog seaofshoes.com. Her style is quite her own and we believe her love for a unquie style is what brings her readers wanting more. If you speak the fashion language then Jimmy Choo is like saying another word for shoes. This British accessory brand has announced that they will be working for their first time with H&M. Ladies and may I say gentlemen, H&M is teaming up with Jimmy Choo to deliver affordable stylish shoes and bags for men and women. The collection will be available November 14. Let's mark that on our calendars.

We at Beauty Revolution like to see furs, but our main goal is to recycle them. (Our first issue talks about it in more detail) Going to local vintage shops or thrift shops are great places to find wonderful pieces. The time is getting closer to start bundling up.

Eco-Friendly Fashion Show 10/10/09

EcoLavish Fashion Show is currently the only eco-friendly fashion show in the Seattle area. Surprising, huh? Now in its second year, they have returned yet again to present their audience with an unforgettable evening. The location will be fantastic, a once Rainer Brewery with dramatic floor to ceiling windows. This event will be a night to remember. BR Magazine will be there to cover the event. So, for those of you who are not in the Seattle area (not to worry), we will let you know the 411 on what happened.

Looking for a Job?

Could you handle traveling all around the world for your job? This is Keith Johnson job, a buyer for the upscale retailer Anthropologie. Tonight on the Sundance Channel, starts the series of, MAN SHOPS GLOBE. Cameras following Keith to unique treasure spots around the world to find the 'it' items to be displayed and sold at Anthropologie's around the world.

If you are unable to watch tonight's show, Downtown Seattle will be previewing his new television series with drinks and dishes tomorrow night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., October 8th (You have to RSVP to ManShopsGlobeSeattle@laforce-stevens.com). What a lady

Beauty Revolution has been on a roll!

Having finished up a photo shoot yesterday with Liliane Montevecchi (Latest movie was, How to lose a guy in 10 days, but she is constantly doing shows) and it going marvelous, I cannot wait until the next event. I just have to say being in the same room with this lady makes you think about your own life and what it could be. She was quite the lady. Her hollywood stories, the under the breath singing, and the way she switched characters for every shot was amazing to watch and we felt very fortunate to be apart of her day. Pictures of the shoot will be up and posted soon.

Vogue was there to start the first night off about a week ago, followed by amazing different events and shows that were held throughout the week. From our lovely Seattle Street Style blogger, Kam Martin, with 'Needle+Thread', to an amazing gal, photographer Danielle Bortone-Holt with Brick House Photography, we where able to get ahold of some fantastic photographs.
